Bardia Gaida camp history
Originally established as the Royal Hunting Reserve in 1969, the area was declared a national park in 1988 to protect its growing population of endangered species. Over the years, strong wildlife conservation efforts—ranging from anti-poaching initiatives to habitat restoration—have transformed Bardia into one of Nepal’s premier sanctuaries. Today, it spans over 968 square kilometers, encompassing grasslands, riverine forests, and dense sal forests that harbor a remarkable variety of flora and fauna.
